Blogging can prove to be a full time job. Writing for your company blog provides you with a vast array of topics to write about, yet for some reason the option becomes so overwhelming, that you can't choose just one. Simply letting the words roll off of your fingers is not always so easy. No matter how hard it may seem, there are a variety of ways to overcome your inability to brainstorm the perfect idea. Luckily, we've created a few tips and tricks to help you overcome your writer's block, and create quality and innovative content that your readers will love!

 Tips to Overcoming Writer's Block

1. Re-Purpose Content

This does not simply mean writing about the same topic. However, it can be very helpful to search through your history and pull out certain aspects of prior posts that you've written before. If you are refurbishing a post you've written, pick out the smallest subtopic or detail and work your way around it. Otherwise, you could most certainly choose a similar topic you have covered in the past, but put a new spin on it, or interject a different perspective. When doing so, just be sure that enough time has elapsed between posts so that readers do not get bored with repetitive content. Use your imagination!

2. Look Within Your Company

Take the time to go back to the basics. What is your company? What do you stand for? What is your mission? Take a look on your company's website and you will find a sea of inspiration for your next blog post. Yes, they may be broad topics, but it's a starting point. Make a tree and narrow down you topic until you have a specific item you would like to address.

3. Seek External Resources  Tips to Overcoming Writer's Block

Today, we have access to a variety of resources to help supplement your writing. Do your research. Have an idea? Look into it more....thank you Google! One helpful resource for the latest and greatest in marketing topics to cover is HubSpot. They cover some great topics in terms of inbound marketing and software.

4. Plan Ahead

If you appear to be having writer's block on a consistent basis, consider planning things out ahead of time! Making a blog topics calendar can help you to stay on task, and save time. Try to make a list for the week. Even if it's not highly specific, it's a good place to start.

5. Ask the Audience!

Who better to go to than the people reading your blog! Don't be afraid to ask your readers what content they want to see covered on your company's blog. This is a great way to encourage your readers to interact, engage, and connect with you.
